HYDERABAD:<\/strong>\u00a0Sindh Community Foundation (SCF) in collaboration with United States Agency for International Development (USAID) under Small Grants and Ambassador\u2019s Fund Programmes took a number of initiatives on a project \u2018Improve girls\u2019 education status in 20 government schools of districts Matiari and Tando Muhammad Khan districts\u2019.<\/p>\n Executive Director SCF, Javed Hussain said that project was aiming to improve girls\u2019 education status in these schools, enhancing enrollment and retention in 8 of selected schools, providing necessary furniture and sports kit to all 20 schools, providing student\u2019s kit to all students in selected schools, arranging a comprehensive training programme for head teachers, first assistants and class teachers and promoting concept of entrepreneurship by training teachers, orienting students and involving them in entrepreneurship competitions.<\/p>\n It provided student kits to 1,046 female students enrolled in class six to matriculation in 9 government girl\u2019s high schools, three from Matiari and 6 from Tando Muhammad Khan.<\/p>\n Teacher\u2019s role is very essential to improve quality education and retain female students in schools. He claimed that we have trained 44 female teachers gender based modern teaching methods and 57 female teachers on concepts of entrepreneurship.
