Small Grants and Ambassador’s Fund Program (SGAFP), a program for the grassroots organizations of Pakistan, has endeavored itself since its launch, in disseminating grants information through various communication channels. SGAFP, at all stages of the program, observes continuous circulation of information, ensuring that it is stretched deep within the grassroots level in remote areas of Pakistan. These channels include, but not limited to, a user-friendly website, press advertisements, direct mail shots, widespread circulation of Program information brochures and orientation workshops.
SGAFP has organized four such workshops in November 2011, in Sindh, specifically in Dadu, Badin, Mirpurkhas and Mithi Tharparkar, for NGOs interested in securing grants for community development. The aim of the workshops was to thoroughly guide the NGOs not only through the process of applying for grants under the U.S. Ambassador’s Fund Program but also through the procedure of executing their awarded project.
The 10 NGO attendees in Dadu, 33 NGOs, LSOs and CBOs in Badin, 13 in Mirpurkhas and 17 in Mithi Tharparkar, received personalized attention from SGAFP’s trained grants team in understanding the U.S. Ambassador’s Fund Program and its application procedures. During the interactive sessions, potential applicants were thoroughly briefed upon the seven focus areas/sectors under which the NGOs can apply for grants. These workshops have provided the participants an opportunity of learning the various techniques of writing an application proposal for consideration for grants, in addition to having knowledge upon how to the execute the project, meeting SGAFP’s standard project implementation requirements.
The 4 hour long productive sessions of the workshops left the participants pleased and enthusiastic for applying for grants under the U.S. Ambassador’s Fund Program. This is one of SGAFP’s meticulous ways of facilitating Pakistan’s grassroots organizations in not only developing their understanding of the Program but also offering tips on improving their project implementation modus operandi so as to further provide immense benefits to the local communities, in terms of having an enhanced standard of living amongst other things.
Are you seeking guidance in developing apt applications for your project? If yes, then kindly fill out the form below and SGAFP staff will be contacting you for registration for future such workshops in your region.
