Small Grants

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Small Grants and Ambassador’s Fund Program supports initiatives by Pakistani civil society organizations. The program has two components i.e. Small Grants and Ambassador’s Fund.

The Small Grants fund provided financial and organizational support to local organizations that show innovation in their efforts to improve Pakistani communities. Grants ranging from US $50,000 – 300,000 were awarded to Pakistani organizations for multi-year projects under this fund.

The thematic areas under this grant included Economic Growth, Education, Energy, Health, Civic Participation, and Governance across Pakistan. With a geographic focus on Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces, the program was designed to fund innovative activities that promote USAID’s development objectives that may not necessarily fit into existing U.S. government programs.

Overall, the Small Grants fund has awarded 108 grants under different the thematic areas and has benefited over 800,000 people.
