USAID’s Small Grants and Ambassador’s Fund Project, along with six other USAID Project organizations working in Pakistan, participated in the festivities of celebrating 235th Independence Day of the United States of America, organized by the U. S Consulate General Lahore. The theme of the event was “Washington State”, and the party was based on a street market in Washington State called Pike Place Market.
U. S. Consul general Carmela Conroy, along with Chief Guest Mr Shaharyar Taseer and Deputy Chief of Mission Richard E. Hoagland welcomed the guests and spoke on Pakistan and United States friendship. The event started with speeches, followed by refreshments. Guests visited the USAID’s program information booth and showed keen interest in the wonderful endeavor taken by USAID towards improving and empowering grassroots organizations and community groups of Pakistan.
